"Although SpongeBob SquarePants has been airing more or less consistently for nearly 20 years, the show's first three seasons - which aired between 19 - were its most influential. Not every episode is great, sure, but you don't hate seasons 1-3 for a few bad episodes, that's the same thing in 9b+.
If you think that new episodes suck, then try to watch "Karen's Virus", "Squid noir", "Broken alarm", "High sea diving", "Getaway!", "Krusty Katering" and "Mimic madness", and seasons 9b+ in general. New episodes are can be enjoyed by evryone, and they're usually having a simple story and packed with energetic humour, silly dialogues, great visual comedy and charming, lovable characters. Do you mean, that episodes like "Bubbles" were made specifically for big manly man with tattoos and bloody eyes? SpongeBob is all about silly characters, living in a silly world and having a silly adventures and the new episodes are doing this right. Saying that "new episodes are bad, because they're childish" is a pretty bad argument. That's not just some exceptions, that's the rules for the new episodes.

Krabs, who tries to teach SpongeBob how to drive, even if it affects his cash, sarcastic Squidward, who actually goes to save SpongeBob and Patrick, when he thinks they're in danger, and so on. I can say the same thing about any other character, energetic and lovable goofball SpongeBob, who makes pretty much anyone happy, starting from Fred and ending on even Plankton, Mr. This moment is fantastic not only for great comedy ("THINGS ARE GONNA GET CRAZY" is really underrated), but also because it does a great job at showing Patrick as a character in new episodes.
One of my favourite moments from the new episodes, is the moment from "Moving Bubble Bass", Bubble Bass lies to SpongeBob and Patrick and doesn't rewards them with lunch for their hard work, and what you think Patrick does? He stands up for SpongeBob! He doesn't gets mad at Bubble Bass for not giving him food, he gets mad at him for lying to his friend. I've watched every episode of SpongeBob multiple times (except in season 12 I've only seen some episodes just once), and the characters are improved a lot in new seasons, compared to seasons 6-8, everyone is much nicer, than they used to, ESPECIALLY Patrick. Sorry for answering so late, but I think your arguments make little sense.
